Four Colman Getty handles every aspect of the Man Booker Prizes, from the submissions process through to PR, marketing and digital, from generating international media coverage to event and sponsor management.

We also manage the major, cross-platform partnership with the BBC which includes live coverage from the winner ceremony, a star-studded dinner for over 500 guests.

Our ambition in 2016 was to continue and broaden the reach of the prize, in the UK and beyond, with a concerted push in America. The winner announcement alone led to over 1.3k pieces of coverage globally.

We worked closely with over 40 engaged vloggers and Instagrammers, utilising bespoke ‘behind-the-scenes’ content. #ManBooker2016. The 2016 winner, Paul Beatty trended on Twitter in the UK and featured on Twitter Moments while the announcement of his win reached 128.9k people on Facebook.

As well as creating a new website, we livestreamed from the winner ceremony via Facebook Live and worked with TwitterBooks to livestream an interview with the winner after the announcement. Series two of our podcasts proved as popular as last year, featuring celebrities Harry Shearer, Sara Pascoe and Kathryn Williams, to name a few.   

We organised a range of events including a shortlisted author event at the House of St Barnabas with Bookslam and a winner interview with the New Statesman, which was streamed on Facebook Live to over 7k viewers. The public ‘meet the authors’ event at London’s Southbank on the eve of the winner ceremony attracted a record audience of 1,200 readers.
