Having successfully launched the ‘Venues, Vision and Values’ and 2 Year to Go milestone for England Rugby 2015, Four was appointed to lead the communications and media relations for the 100 day Rugby World Cup 2015 Trophy Tour. This included the launch event/ 100 Day to Go milestone at Twickenham with Prince Harry and Jonny Wilkinson. Our mission was to raise awareness of the Trophy Tour and Tournament, build excitement and drive ticket sales.
Four adopted a two-fold approach maximising and amplifying media interest and creating a consistent drum beat around all community events. We worked with Rugby players, including Rugby World Cup winners, national and international legends and future generations to get key messages across in media interviews.
Four provided a rolling communications campaign ensuring national, regional, local and specialist sector media were engaged with the Trophy Tour across broadcast, print and online. We also managed content collection and approval of iconic photography and film on a daily basis for media and social media distribution.
Over 1,000 pieces of coverage were generated by the Trophy Tour, which visited over 300 events, travelled 9,000 miles and was seen by over 100,000 people, all helping towards the organisers selling a record 2.4 million tickets pre Tournament.
