We have been working with Dame Barbara Stocking to publicise the 60th anniversary of Murray Edwards College, one of Cambridge’s three women-only Colleges. Barbara is the first alumna to become President of the College. She took up the role after over a decade at the helm of Oxfam GB where she was the NGO’s first female leader.
As part of celebrations for its 60th anniversary, Murray Edwards College published a report, Women Today, Women Tomorrow that explores women’s views on their life and careers post-graduation. Almost 1,000 of the College’s alumnae took part in the research, which has found that by far the biggest challenge women have faced is a non-supportive working culture – something reported as much by younger alumnae as for older women.
We released the report to the media, securing coverage in The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, The Times and London Evening Standard among other titles, with profiles of Dame Barbara Stocking appearing in The Guardian and The Telegraph Magazine and an interview in FT Life & Arts.
