Despite being one of the world’s largest banks, HSBC had a relatively small number of branches in Scotland. We were tasked with profile raising to support the businesses’ commercial aims in the Scottish market.
Our news driven campaign demonstrated that HSBC was growing and investing in Scotland, attracting and winning quality customers whilst supporting businesses in tough times, as well as providing international expertise.
We were quick to tell the story of how innovative SMEs in Scotland were switching to HSBC. These companies typified the ambitious spirit of owner-managed businesses that were bucking the economic trend. The final piece of the bank’s Scottish branch expansion programme fell into place when we orchestrated the official opening of the new £2.8 million branch in Aberdeen. Penetration of international expertise messaging contributed to 70% of new customers in Scotland having an overseas element to their business.
