Addressing the IT skills gap

Corporate IT Forum

Forum members were deeply concerned that their IT skills needs were not being met by current education and training.  Four created The Education and Skills Commission to give them a voice.

We recruited 28 Commissioners from member and non-member organisations.  We made a submission to Government on its decision to remove the current ICT curriculum, arranged media interviews and placed opinion pieces.

Our work resulted in widespread coverage across national business and technology media.  A highlight was The Department for Education acknowledging the Commission’s concerns and inviting its input into the new computing Curriculum.

Four’s work gave us credibility in the IT skills debate and led to us being asked to provide input into the new computing Curriculum.
