Gareth joined Four Broadgate in June 2015 after a career that has spanned business journalism, in-house corporate affairs and more than 20 years in financial and corporate public relations consultancy.
His current clients include St. James’s Place, Woodford Investment Management, Thomas Miller Group, Walker Crips and Hargreave Hale.
He began his career as a journalist and worked on a number of national newspapers, including The Times, The Observer and the former London Daily News, culminating in three years at The Sunday Times, where Gareth was Deputy City Editor.
After working in-house at defence to automotive products group GKN plc, he went into corporate consultancy, where he has worked with a wide range of companies, including Old Mutual, Coca-Cola HBC, Derwent London and Invensys.
Among high profile projects Gareth worked on were the launch of Grand Central Railway Company, and providing strategic advice and support to the NEC Group management and its majority shareholder, Birmingham City Council, in preparation for privatisation of the NEC Group.
Gareth has written a trio of business guide books, covering Libya, Saudi Arabia and Emerging Europe, and is currently writing a book on the revival of Britain’s railway network, which is due to be published in early 2017.
In his leisure time he is a volunteer on the Mid-Hants Railway (the Watercess Line), where he works in the booking office at Alresford station and in the buffet car on the trains. He is also a keen runner, and has completed a total of 32 full marathons.
