Alun is a sports and sponsorship expert with twenty years of experience providing strategic counsel, problem solving, and issues and crisis management to sports and arts sponsors, brands and sports organisations. He has been involved with some of the most high profile events and campaigns of the last decade including: Davis Cup; Tour de France; Brawn GP’s FI championship winning team; Ryder Cup 2010; and the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
He set up Four Sports, Arts & Sponsorship in 2005 and the division’s work has been consistently recognised by the industry. His current client project include: Lloyds Banking Group’s sponsorship programme; International Tennis Federation’s centenary campaign; Arsenal FC; and a number of issues management projects. He is one of Four’s most experienced media trainers.
As a managing director at Hill & Knowlton, he grew the Sports Marketing & Sponsorship practice to be one of the industry leaders, and headed-up the international team that worked with the London 2012 bid to secure the Olympics. Before that, he was head of communications for the ITF and media director at Alan Pascoe Associates (now Octagon).
Alun read Modern History at The Queen’s College, Oxford and has an MBA in Marketing and a MRS Diploma from Cass Business School. He is an active sportsman (rugby, golf, skiing and cricket) and keen climber, traveller and wildlife photographer.
