Consultation across Essex with innovative and creative approach including: six focus groups, four mailshots and 23 county-wide roadshows. Youth parliament to engage specific and general audiences.
The consultation attracted 5,000 responses with 83% and 87% favourability for the two key elements of the waste strategy and increased support for recycling across the county.
The public relations programme targeted key audiences to encourage greater personal responsibility for waste reduction and energy conservation.
