Client
There is no organisation in the world quite like The Crown Estate. With a property portfolio encompassing many of the UK’s cityscapes, ancient forests, farms, parkland, coastline and communities, The Crown Estate’s role is unique. The Crown Estate has significant London holdings, particularly on Regent Street, Regent's Park and St James's.
Objectives
To help The Crown Estate win support for, and to improve their development proposals for a number of sites on Regent Street by successfully engaging and consulting with key stakeholders, including politicians and members of the local community.
The work includes promoting the work of The Crown Estate in Regent Street, its core values and key messages amongst local stakeholders as well as providing an opportunity for local stakeholders to have their say in development and local environment proposals affecting their area.
Solution
The programme for each project was tailored specifically to the site and the political make up of the area.
The programmes included:
• Pre-planning briefings with key opinion formers within the local community, including cabinet members, ward councillors and local organisations;
• A number of public consultation exhibitions held relating to the development sites, both pre planning and post planning for the local community and other key stakeholders;
• Ongoing briefings and meetings held with key local stakeholders around the visions and plans for Regent Street and the surrounding area;
• Strategic political counsel and media handling guidance
Result
Four have worked with The Crown Estate on a number of schemes in recent years which have received planning consent. Most recently, Four have helped The Crown Estate secure planning consent for the Quadrant redevelopment, three sites at the lower end of Regent Street which include the former Café Royal, Regent Palace Hotel and Quadrant Arcade.
