Omran, the Government of Oman’s tourism development and investment arm, has selected Four Communications Group for a wide-ranging public relations programme, following a competitive pitch process.
Omran was established in 2005 to develop the infrastructure and facilities required to extend the Sultanate’s tourism industry. It is involved in the development of new leisure resorts, conference facilities, resort villas, golf courses and hotels, as well as on the refurbishment of some of the country’s major existing international hotels.
Four Communications has been appointed to deliver strategic communications consultancy, local and international media and stakeholder communications, and community relations support. Omran has also selected a number of modules from Four Communications’ on-line stakeholder management product, The Centre.
Wael Al Lawati, chief executive officer of Omran, said: “Omran has achieved a great deal in its short life, with a growing list of major tourism resorts and hotels already in the development pipeline. Now we need to start building our profile, firstly within our own market and then internationally.
