7 February 2008 : Four Sports, Arts & Sponsorship has been appointed as one of the agencies to work with the Liverpool Culture Company to promote Liverpool as the European Capital of Culture in 2008. The appointment was made following a tender process and competitive pitch in November 2007 involving four other agencies.
The initial six month programme will target UK consumer and business media to drive consideration of Liverpool as a destination and to increase visitor numbers. The brief also includes raising awareness of the positive social and economic impacts the year long festival will have on the city.
Rachel Clarke, Four's Head of Arts will lead the account, reporting into Paul Newman, Liverpool Culture Company Communications Director. The team will also have the support, resources and local insight of Four's Liverpool office led by Alun Hayes.

Four Sports, Arts & Sponsorship will work alongside Bolton & Quinn and LD Communications who will fulfil separate PR briefs.
