Highlighting human rights with the Scottish Government

This week, the Edinburgh Consolidated PR team helped launch new Scottish Government campaign #FlyTheFlag, to raise awareness of the benefits of human rights for people in their everyday lives.

The campaign is designed to help people better understand how human rights are relevant, how they are used on a day-to-day basis and how they help build a fairer and more progressive society.

Social Justice Secretary, Alex Neil was joined by the country’s first same-sex married couple, Susan and Gerrie Douglas-Scott for a photo-call in the (somewhat typical) soggy weather conditions, as accompany research launched revealed that one in five Scots believe human rights are only for minority groups such as prisoners and asylum seekers.
