Last week Four’s culture and campaigning practice, Four Colman Getty, supported the visit of His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge to the Library of Birmingham.
The team worked with the Library to ensure the smooth running of the visit, while working closely with the Royal Household on press attendance and photography.
His Royal Highness was welcomed by Library Director, Brian Gambles and given a
full tour of largest public library in Western Europe. During his visit he was taken down to the Children’s Library where he was presented with a Library Card for HRH Prince George and copies of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury and Santa is coming to Birmingham by Steve Smallman.
Brian Gambles, Director of the Library of Birmingham, commented,
"This was a very special day in the life of the Library of Birmingham. Library staff have worked incredibly hard to make the new library an outstanding success for Birmingham, and to provide inspiration for citizens of all ages and visitors to the city.
“It was a great honour to introduce The Duke of Cambridge to some of the staff team and to a few of the many children and young people who have enjoyed the Library since our opening just three months ago."
Four Colman Getty was appointed by the Library of Birmingham in April 2011 to run the media relations campaign and position it as a major new cultural destination. In September Four Colman Getty coordinated publicity for the opening which has now seen over 750,000 through its doors.
