8 January 2008: The UK's largest Real Estate Investment Trust, Land Securities has appointed Four's Liverpool office to manage public consultation and handle PR on their £100 million development proposals for St Johns Shopping Centre. The centre is Liverpool's largest covered shopping centre and also includes the famous St Johns beacon tower, a key landmark of Liverpool's skyline. Planning permission has already been granted for the first phase of the development which sees the construction of Europe's largest ever media screen. A further planning application will be submitted for the rest of the works in February 2008 with work expected to begin in 2009 and completed in 2012. In addition to public affairs advice and a 24 hour press office operation, Four have assigned a dedicated member of staff to manage Land Securities' purpose-built marketing suite, located in the centre. The marketing suite is being used to share the proposals with the general public as part of the planning application. Four's Liverpool office specialises in property and planning public affairs across the north.
