4 September 2007: A press conference arranged by Four Communications on behalf of bmi today announced the single biggest expansion ever to the airline's network. The announcement, delivered by bmi's chief executive officer, Nigel Turner, officially launched 17 exciting new routes to 15 new countries in the Middle East and Russia. The conference, which was arranged and produced in collaboration by Four's travel, corporate, digital and creative practices was a great success, seeing coverage spread widely throughout the national consumer and trade media.
Lis Griffiths, head of Four's travel PR practice said: "Today's conference went extremely well and demonstrates the benefits of a communications company with integrated services. The launch of bmi's new routes to the Middle East and Russia is an extremely exciting prospect and it was great to play a part in sharing this news."
The press conference, entitled 'heading east', was held at Fakhreldine, a Lebanese restaurant in Piccadilly. The event included a photo shoot of bmi's chief executive and cabin crew in front of a 10 foot departure board of the new destinations, designed by Four's creative team, and a slick destination video, created by the digital practice.
