Four goes back to School

Four Communications has launched a new concept in teaching for client, the School of Everything. Created by five young entrepreneurs with a passion for learning, the aptly-named School of Everything is a completely free community website that connects private teachers of every discipline – from IT to professional business skills, from orchestral conducting to piano, design, yoga, meditation, skateboarding, kung fu, video editing and more – with potential pupils in their area.

With support from Channel 4 and the Young Foundation, School of Everything's ambition is to be the biggest school in the world. More than 1000 teachers in the UK have already signed up during the test phase, including maths and physics teachers, Japanese language tutors and even a Musical Saw instructor. Now School of Everything is welcoming new teacher registrants in preparation for a full launch in September.
Joining is simple.  Teachers register at and create a personal page giving information on their lessons, the qualifications offered and the format in which they teach - for example workshops or one-to-one sessions. Potential pupils can find their perfect tutor simply searching by subject, learning category and location. They can then send them a message, arrange to meet and begin learning their new subject.
Co-founder and CEO of the School of Everything, Paul Miller commented:
“Everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn. The challenge is bringing the two together. School of Everything creates a community of people who are passionate about teaching and learning, that stretches across the UK - and it is free.  We provide teachers with the opportunity to reach a much bigger audience, whilst encouraging people to continue learning throughout their lives.”
