Four Communications brought on board to PR 'Mount Everest' of Offshore Power Boat Challenges

8 June 2008 : The Round Britain Offshore Power Boat Race has appointed Four Communications to handle its consumer PR.

The race, which sees some of the world’s most powerful boats and skilled drivers test their speed and endurance in a series of hotly contested legs around the UK, was first run in 1969 - with the next one following 15 years later in 1984.

The race begins in Portsmouth on 21st June before taking in Plymouth (21 June), Milford Haven (22 June), Bangor (23 June), Oban (24 June), Inverness (26 June) Edinburgh (27 June), Newcastle (28 June) and Lowestoft (29 June) finishing in Portsmouth on the 30 June. The event will last for ten days as the crews race to be the first to the finish line back in Portsmouth to claim one of several class titles. The participants in the race are varied and include an all female team, taxi drivers, chefs, 747 pilots, millionaires, family crews, novices and of course professional racers - all of whom will be racing around the UK in some of the world’s most powerful boats.
