England Golf Partnership appoints Four Sports Marketing & Sponsorship

27th January 2006: The England Golf Partnership (EGP), a partnership between the English Golf Union, English Ladies Golf Association and the Professional Golfers' Association, has appointed Four Sports Marketing & Sponsorship after a competitive pitch process to help communicate its vision for golf.

Roger Moreland, Partnership Manager, EGP, said 'We published our vision for golf in October 2004 - to allow England to become the leading golfing nation in the world by providing more opportunities for participants to START, STAY and SUCCEED - and this was encapsulated in the recently published 'Whole Sport Plan 2005-09'. Now that we have the building blocks in place we need to have a communications programme in place. Four has strong credentials in golf, lots of experience of working with sports federations and has a good understanding of the UK sports scene at government and agency level.'

Alun James, managing director, Four Sports Marketing & Sponsorship said 'This appointment is a significant addition to our portfolio of golfing clients that includes Celtic Manor Resort and Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China. We will work with the EGP to increase itsprofile and educate consumer, corporate and governmental audiences about its role and responsibilities.'
