Barclaycard appoints Four Communications to promote a balanced debate around the use of credit cards

15th November 2005: Four Communications plc has been appointed by Barclaycard, to provide an integrated communications programme for the credit card and loans provider. Barclaycard was launched the UK's first ever credit card in 1966 and has been a leading provider of credit cards and personal loans for nearly 40 years.
Four Communications will provide corporate and public affairs communications advice as Barclaycard seeks to encourage a balanced debate around the use of credit cards and consumer lending in the UK. A five-strong team is led by managing partner, Nan Williams, who will report to Head of PR Ian Barber - Barclaycard.
Ian Barber said of the appointment: 'Across the consumer lending market the level of scrutiny is higher than ever. Four is helping us drive further balance into the debate.'
