Four Communications plc, the number four independent agency in the UK according to PR Week, has acquired B2B and technology public relations firm, Kinross+Render (K+R). Four has acquired one hundred per cent of K+R in a cash and equity deal. The company will merge with Four’s Corporate & Crisis PR practice and the combined team will be led by Sara Render, K+R’s chief executive. The K+R team, which has already relocated to Four’s Leicester Square HQ, works with clients including Ordnance Survey, Interface, Paessler and the Corporate IT Forum.
As part of the K+R deal, Four has also acquired a stake in ECCO International, the 32-country international public relations network. Sara Render remains chairman of ECCO which will become a major driver of future growth for the Four Communications Group.
As well as leading Four’s Corporate PR, Business & Technology PR practices and ECCO, Sara Render also assumes responsibility for business development across the Four Communications Group and will sit on the Group Operating Board.
Four Communications Group chief executive Nan Williams said:
“We are delighted that K+R is joining the Four family. This is the third acquisition in our programme of attracting top notch independent companies which are leaders in their fields to join the Group. Sara’s energy and leadership will be a major boost to our Corporate, Business & Technology PR practice and she will also bring additional focus on business development and international growth.”
Sara Render, chief executive of K+R adds:
“I am extremely proud of Kinross + Render’s 26 year history of award-winning work and of the many amazing PR people who have worked for the consultancy over the years. It was time, however, to take on a new personal challenge and to give a first-class staff a bigger platform on which to develop what I know will be stellar careers. Four was a natural home; fantastic work and extremely nice people. Equally importantly, we bring real value to the group. We make Four a truly international player, particularly in the b2b, technology, retail, financial services and healthcare sectors. I have huge respect for the way Nan Williams and her team have already built one of the largest independent PR businesses and integrated marketing groups in the UK and Middle East and really excited to be a part of the Four story going forward.”
Four Communications Group has offices in London and Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat from which it operates right across the Gulf. The Group provides integrated services including public relations, public affairs, sponsorship, digital, design, multimedia content, social media, media planning & buying and sponsorship.
Four Communications acquired leading travel and hospitality PR company bgb in 2011, the leading culture and campaigning agency Colman Getty in 2012 and continues to explore further acquisitions. The Group’s membership of Pangaea already enabled global support for travel and tourism clients, however the ECCO International membership and shareholding extends its delivery capabilities to most sectors across EMEA, the US and Asia Pacific.
