Client
United House is the leading social housing construction company for London and the South East. The group consists of three integrated companies, each specialising in one of the key areas of Construction and Refurbishment, Finance and Development
Objective
To develop and implement an internal communications campaign for the 500+ employees of United House.
Solution
In May 2008, Four developed an internal communications strategy and designed all supporting collateral. The project involved reviewing all current internal communications channels and running workshops with United House’s management and employees, to identify strengths and weaknesses and to determine the most effective processes. To give impetus to the new range of initiatives, Four wrote and designed a ‘United House Internal Communications Charter’ – a statement of intent from senior management. Hard copies were mailed out to every employee prior to the campaign launch, along with instructions on how to use the new Group intranet, Open House – also designed and built by Four. At launch, staff received the first edition of a new internal e-newsletter – Our House- written by Four.
Result
The new impetus for internal communications has been well received by all United House employees and the general perception is that staff are more aware of the organisation’s vision and acknowledge that the senior management are working to improve the lines of communication. A staff survey was undertaken to measure the results.
