Web developer

Working in a creative team in a very fast-paced environment, this job is perfect for someone who not only loves the latest development technologies, tools and techniques, but wants to work as part of a team to put them into action.

You'll work with our team of designers, developers, video and animation specialists and a whole range of communications specialists to deliver beautiful bespoke interactive experiences for our clients.  This might be anything from a tool to manage communications materials across a government campaign, to a Facebook competition tab for an adventure travel company. 

We've worked with start-ups, major multinational companies and everything inbetween, so if you're looking for variety this is the place to be.  At the same time, we take a great pride in what we do and are looking for someone who will do the same.

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running.  While formal experience isn't necessarily important, the right candidate will be able to:

  • Write great code with a solid appreciation of good practice and why it's important (if you have to look up OOP or MVC, you're probably not the right person for us)
  • Create and test web applications that are secure and accessible
  • Develop techniques to deliver sites across all browsers that match the needs of a project
  • Use their initiative to deliver what the client really needs - thinking around the brief
  • Work collaboratively, enjoy discussing difficult problems and working with people - we're a sociable bunch!

Some experience of the following platforms would be an advantage: Drupal, Wordpress, Zend, CakePHP.  A background of working in an AGILE environment would also be a plus, as would knowing your way around a standard LAMP setup.
