For the sixth year Four Colman Getty delivered a PR campaign for one of its most inspirational clients, the Women of the Year Lunch and Awards. The event, which took place on 17 October at InterContinental Park Lane, brought together more than 400 women from all walks of life, each handpicked for their achievements and contribution to society. Each guest is regarded as a ‘Woman of the Year’ and represents not only themselves but also the millions of extraordinary women who make a difference every day.
The Women of the Year Special Award honoured the Hillsborough Families for working tirelessly for 27 years to establish the truth of what happened at the Hillsborough football stadium disaster on 15 April, 1989. The award was presented to Margaret Aspinall, on behalf of all the families, by Prime Minister Theresa May, who said:
“Thanks to their resolve we now know the truth about what happened that day. This award is for all those who lost their lives at Hillsborough and their families who have shown immense courage and determination.”
ITV's Lorraine once again partnered with the event, and so Four Colman Getty worked with its team to arrange features and interviews before and during the event, as well as organising a photocall, inviting diarists to the drinks reception, and arranging features and interviews with partner Good Housekeeping.
Four Colman Getty also had some incredible award winners to work with, such as Seema Aziz, Barclays Women of the Year Award winner and founder of the CARE Foundation, who was interviewed by Jenni Murray on BBC Radio 4's Woman’s Hour, and for Outlook on BBC World Service.
