Heritage has been a highlight for us this month. Our events team event managed the two day Heritage Exchange 2014 conference at LSO St Luke’s: a major thought-leadership forum for the heritage sector, staged by the Heritage Lottery Fund in partnership with the RSA.
25 inspiring high profile speakers, including Matthew Taylor (CEO, RSA), Sir Peter Bazalgette (Chair, Arts Council England), Jonathan Ruffer (Chair, Auckland Castle Trust) and Loyd Grossman (Chair, The Heritage Alliance), gathered to exchange ideas about heritage – its role in civil society and place and how best to ensure its resilience in the future.
250 senior delegates quizzed the speakers, thrashed out the most pressing challenges and deliberated over ideas for the future. Audience engagement was a significant focus of the event and by using keypad voting technology throughout the conference participants’ ‘thumbs’ were unleashed!
The Design and Digital practice at Four supported the project and created the branding, a microsite and filmed the two day event, which was live streamed to an audience nationwide.
During the drinks reception there was a rousing performance from Neil Bartlett who, along with Kate Pullinger, conceived Letter to an Unknown Soldier. This is one of the key projects in the 1418NOW Centenary Art Commissions.
The inspiring speeches and discussions - covering topics from cities to elephants and nightingales to philanthropy - can be viewed here.
