Four Colman Getty has worked with Chef Peter Gordon and his London restaurant The Providores and Tapa Room since 2007. Earlier this year, our team of marketing specialists were called in to provide strategic consultation to The Providores and Tapa Room advising them on how to maximise their existing communication channels as well as contributing ideas for new methods of marketing themselves. A particular focus has been around their digital channels given the growing importance of online information for restaurant-goers. This resulted in the development of a new, mouth-watering Facebook page, best practice guidance for other social channels as well as practical tips for their existing website and newsletter.This piece of work centred around a big announcement for Peter Gordon and his team, the opening of The Sugar Club at the top of Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand. The Sugar Club has an iconic history, opening in central Wellington in 1986, followed by highly acclaimed and hugely popular incarnations in both Notting Hill and Soho in London. Our work on the New Zealand launch focussed on securing UK-based restaurant trade press to celebrate the reincarnation of this iconic restaurant: features will be running in Restaurant magazine and Caterer in September.
