Wednesday 20 March 20136.30pmGroucho Club, 45 Dean Street, London W1Tickets £15 to include a drinkFour Colman Getty is launching a bi-monthly curated presenting and networking event which brings together publishers with companies across the creative sector to promote idea sharing, constructive criticism and partnership building. The first event, on Wednesday 20 March, will focus on gaming and includes Phil Stuart, Creative Director of Preloaded, a BAFTA winning studio making casual and social games with purpose, and Dave Morris, author, video game designer and creator of Profile’s acclaimed Frankenstein app. The evening will be introduced by Charlie Higson, author, comedian, avid gamer, GameCity Prize Judge. The creative sector, and the publishing industry in particular, is going through a period of rapid change and disruption. There is huge potential for cross-industry collaboration and inspiration, as well as a hunger amongst young, energetic start-ups to forge partnerships to exploit content and ideas. The event will consist of fast-moving, “PechaKucha” style presentations, with Q & As from the audience and plenty of time for networking. Presenters will be asked to share projects they have worked on, areas where they would like develop in future as well as highlighting problems they foresee or have encountered.“There is nothing that those of us in the creative sector like better than to get together, share ideas and spark off each other. Whilst there are lots of opportunities within the publishing industry to network, with Off the Page we’ll be bringing thought-leaders from right across the creative sector together to create some cross-industry magic,” says Dotti Irving, Chief Executive of Four Colman Getty. For each event, as well as inviting speakers known to us, we’ll be inviting applications for speakers to present, as well as ideas for future themes to explore. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Matt Railton at Four Colman Getty, firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 11 March.
