We worked with New Designers for the first time this year. This inspiring, celebratory show has been running for 28 years and is the UK’s leading graduate design event. Over the years New Designers has launched the careers of some of the UK’s most successful designers, and is the place to discover new talent and snap up the trends of the future before they hit the high street. Working closely with the team at Upper Street Events, our campaign focussed on securing consumer and national feature coverage, as well as maintaining coverage in the design trade media in the lead-up to and during the two-week run of the show. One of the coverage highlights was a BBC London interview with show director, Isobel Dennis and jewellery designer Grace Hamilton – who, as well as her New Designers success, has just been selected as one of Selfridges’ ‘Bright Young Things’. Once the doors to the show closed, New Designers reported record attendance of 18,265, making it the busiest year in its history.
