This year’s Mothering Sunday saw the publication of Mum’s The Word, documenting the fascinating and adventure packed life of Evette Huntley Branson - mother of Richard, Lindy, and Vanessa, and wife of the late Major Edward “Ted” Branson.An inveterate writer, Eve was ‘always writing something’. Throughout her life she has kept a personal journal. With the help of one of her very best friends, Holly Peppe, over the past 10 years she has distilled more than 900 pages into this memoir. Part diary, part adventure story, part family history - it documents a lifetime of high-jinks and adventures from the matriarch of one of the UK’s most dynamic dynasties.Four Colman Getty worked with Eve and Holly in 2011 to launch Eve’s children’s book Sarky Puddleboat and we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with them both again.Coverage began with an exclusive two part extract deal in the Daily Mail followed by feature interviews in The Times and Saga Magazine.The launch party took place on 11 March at Grace Belgravia in Mayfair. With three generations of the Branson family in attendance, all fresh from the (Virgin) plane from a family wedding South Africa it was quite a party. Following a few words from family friends Dr Tim Evans and Holly, Richard recalled some wonderful memories before introducing the lady of the hour, who regaled us with extraordinary and humorous stories about her incredible life.
