With the Man Booker longlist announced last week, the prize marketing machine officially kicked in with branded booklets sent out to Foyles and Waterstones stores around the UK and a huge amount of activity online with the list reaching over 2.5 million Twitter accounts that day and hits to the website exceeding 26 000 visitors.Not even the Royal baby could limit coverage for the prize as we saw extensive pick-up by both national and international press including The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and TIME Magazine.
