Much of September has been spent on or beside the River Thames, for the inaugural Totally Thames festival. This exciting new, month-long arts and cultural celebration of London’s river, has featured over 100 river-related events along its entire 42 mile course through the capital. We’ve garnered tremendous support from key London media, including a dedicated river issue from Time Out, podcasts, events and stories galore from The Londonist and editorials, features and news stories from Evening Standard.
Highlights of the festival for us included boarding a speedboat with photographers, artist and film crew to follow the 21-metre wooden sculpture HippopoThames up river, watching Battersea Power Station being set on fire by French company Carabosse and handing the Mayor of London a bottle of water from the source of the Thames to carry underneath Tower Bridge. You can catch HippopoThames in her new home in St Katharine Dock until the end of October.
