Action on Addiction held their annual research seminar on Friday 15 March at Eversheds Law Firm, where guest speaker Professor Jo Neale from Oxford Brookes University explored the topic of women in recovery.

 

Penny de Valk, CEO of Cedar, featured in the Financial Times in a feature about religious leadership and what the business community could learn.

 

We worked with our colleagues at Four Gulf to launch the British Crafts Council’s first foray into the Middle East at Design Days Dubai.

 

The British Council’s annual international education conference, Going Global, was held in Dubai and saw the Campaigning team collaborating with Four’s Gulf and Digital teams on this exciting joint project.

The Times Cheltenham Science Festival announced its Guest Directors for 2013. Television presenter and comedian Dara O Briain, computer scientist Professor Dame Wendy Hall and Minister for Universities and Science, Rt Hon David Willetts MP will be at this year’s Festival.

 

Sir Stuart Etherington, chief executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations spoke to The Guardian about a new social media campaign designed to recreate the volunteering buzz of London 2012. He also appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Broadcasting House.

 

Four Colman Getty worked with the inspirational journalist Victoria Brittain in February on the publication of her book, Shadow Lives: The Forgotten Women of the War on Terror. It’s a thought-provoking look at the human fallout of the ‘War on Terror’, specifically the impact on the wives and families of men incarcerated in Guantanamo, in prison or under house arrest in Britain and the US. FCG were delighted to secure a large extract in The Guardian and an interview for Victoria and one of the wives on Woman’s Hour.

 

To celebrate World Book Day, and promote the publication of the Beanstalk Charter for Children’s Literacy, Sue Porto wrote a piece for The Guardian’s Culture Professionals Network.
