This month we’ve worked on the launch of Chineasy, ShaoLan Hsueh’s revolutionary new system for learning Chinese. ShaoLan created a simple, visual system to help teach her British-born children how to read her native language. Traditional Chinese characters are made memorable through beautiful illustrations by Noma Barr and wonderful stories inspired by Chinese culture. The first step in the launch of the brand was the publication of the book Chineasy by Thames & Hudson on 10th March.

The PR campaign around this included interviews with ShaoLan in The Sunday Times, Metro, BBC Radio 4 Front Row and the BBC London Robert Elms Show, amongst others. Chineasy is nominated in the Graphics category of the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year exhibition, now open, and ShaoLan also led an event at the Apple store on Regent Street. Over the summer Chineasy flashcards and an app will also be available. We’re working on a range of exciting partnerships which will spread the word about Chineasy even further.
