From Cambridge Airport to infinity… and beyond!

On 2 September, the Cambridge Airport team at Four bgb put their beloved client firmly on the map as an international airport, as Darwin Airline began its brand new services to Amsterdam, Paris, Milan and Geneva. An agreement between Darwin Airline and Etihad Airways also meant that the launch marked the start of flights from Cambridge to destinations all around the world. As part of the grand launch, Four bgb’s Katie Bentley-Chan started the day bright and early with a press trip over to Amsterdam in cooperation with the Netherlands Tourism Board. Leading a host of broadcast and print media, including Heart FM, Star FM, the Hertfordshire Mercury and local glossies, Places&Faces and the Cambridge Edition, the group were whirled around the city, enjoying a cruise along the canals, visiting the newly opened Rijksmuseum, stopping for lunch at trendy Brasserie Harkema, and finishing it all off with a celebratory drink at the Heineken Experience, before jetting back for a smooth flight home. Meanwhile, associate director Sara Whines, was on the ground in Cambridge, setting up interviews with Robert Marshall, the Marshall Group’s (which owns the airport) CEO and regional ITV and BBC television news, whilst Frances Amissah was back in the office manning the phones and spreading the word of the launch. Coverage included lead stories on the regional ITV and BBC television news, local radio Heart FM, Star Radio and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, national newspapers The Independent, Express, The Sun and the Mirror, and all of the big papers in the East of England.
