Last month saw Lisa Perkins and Katy MacMillan-Scott head out to Abu Dhabi for the second time this year in preparation for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction which will take place in April of next year. Katy and Lisa went to meet the new sponsor, TCA Abu Dhabi, to discuss how to build on the success of the prize and take it forward for the future. The first priority was to finalise dates and details for next year, following which there were various other suppliers to meet to ensure the smooth running of the 2013 event. They also took the opportunity to catch up with other sponsors and suppliers and of course popped in to the Four Gulf office. They then headed back to the rather chillier London, feeling confident that 2013 IPAF is going to be a resounding success. On the way back they dropped in to the Saadiyat Cultural exhibition, held at the impressive Emirates Palace, which displays the visually stunning plans for the Zayed National Museum, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi and a performing arts centre and maritime museum.
