125 years of Agatha Christie

Celebrating 125 years of Agatha Christie, this week saw the opening of the exhibition Agatha Christie: Unfinished Portrait at Bankside Gallery, London.

The show features many unpublished photographs from the Christie Archive and beautifully captures Christie’s life from early childhood, through young adulthood, revealing her to be a thoroughly modern woman who enjoyed surfing, roller skating and adventure. The photographs span her marriages and international travels, as well as her years as a world-famous author.

The free show will run until 6 September, before re-opening on 11 September as part of the Agatha Christie Festival in Torquay.

The exhibition was covered widely by the likes of CNN News, BBC Front Row, The Guardian, The Times, Telegraph, Mail on Sunday, Emerald Street, TimeOut, The Londonist, The Guardian Guide and many more.

Next week will see the announcement of the World’s Favourite Christie, compiled through a global online survey… Watch this space!
